I’ve always turned to the sea for comfort; whether it’s hiking along the coast, plunging into cold waves, or simply driving to the water to reset. The ocean has always been my anchor… a place to reflect, process emotions, and reconnect with myself.

As I grew older, I realized how powerful those moments were and how important it is to recognize and navigate our emotions rather than be carried by them. That understanding became the heart of my first children’s book, a story to help young readers understand their feelings, name them, and ride their emotional waves with mindfulness and care.

Tails of the Maritimes Publishing grew from that same intention: to share stories that blend mindfulness, emotional growth, and the beauty of coastal living. As a small Nova Scotia publishing brand, our stories are inspired by real Maritime places and heartfelt experiences — reminders that home isn’t just where we are, but what we feel.
